This is abbreviated as NBR. It is a synthetic rubber copolymer of acrylonitrile and 1,3-butadiene. Vulcanized rubber has a higher resistance to mineral oils, fats and hydrocarbons. They are not suitable for daylight applications (ozone radiation). The material can be selected for various applications in a hardness of 73–90 Shore A. HNBR stands for hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber. HBNR has high temperature resistance, abrasion resistance, ozone and weathering resistance and is also resistant to water and steam. A special property is the comparably low gas permeability.
